Faith Statement

God

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has existed eternally, in three Persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God, who is Holy and just, loving and compassionate. His deepest desire is to live in a close relationship with all.

Jesus

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless human life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. He rose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven's glory and will return to earth again to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. People can only enter into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding spiritual truth and guidance in doing what is right. We believe in the ongoing operation of His gifts to build up the Church and empower its members for worship, service, and mission.

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God and through it God reveals Himself to us. The entire Bible is God-breathed and God-inspired and therefore without error. The Old and New Testaments speak with final authority and are sufficient for all matters of belief and practice.

Baptism and the Communion

Baptism and Communion (The Lord's Supper) have been given to the Church by Christ as visible signs of the gospel. Baptism is a symbol of union with Christ but does not impart spiritual life. Communion is a commemoration of Christ's sacrifice offered for all and involves the taking of bread and wine and all its blessings are received by faith.

Humanity

Man is made in the image of God, to be like Him in character. Man is the supreme object of God’s creation and although he has tremendous potential for good, he is marred by his acts of disobedience toward God. This is called 'sin'. This sin has separated him from God.

Salvation

Salvation is entirely a work of God's Grace and cannot be earned or deserved. It has been accomplished through the sacrifice of  the Lord Jesus Christ and is offered to all.

God in His love forgives sinners who accept Christ's offer of forgiveness! Through repentance and faith alone all who believe in Christ are justified and adopted into the family of God and receive eternal life.

The Church

We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in Christ (regardless of religious denomination). The Body of Christ is the Church, manifest in local congregations, being part of the world-wide fellowship of believers. As His Body, we are called to worship Him, serve Him and be the instrument through which the Good News of the Gospel of Christ is shared with the world.

The Great Commission

We believe that the Gospel meets the needs of man. The Church is commissioned to preach the Gospel to the world and fulfill its ministry of healing and deliverance, in so doing meeting the spiritual and physical needs of mankind.

The Future

As it is written, the Lord Jesus Christ will return in glory. He will raise the dead, taking the saved to everlasting life and the lost to eternal separation from God. This final judgement will be determined by each individual's relationship with Jesus Christ.
